T-Hangar Bid Open

Expansion at Safford Regional Airport moved forward Wednesday when the city opened bidding for the installation of 10 nested T-hangars for aircraft storage. All 10 units have already been reserved by individuals on the airport waiting list.

The city said the project is expected to take 230 calendar days from the notice-to-proceed date. The job includes purchase and construction of the nested hangars and bi-fold doors, and includes setting of the concrete foundation and installation of all required anchors and tie-downs.

The city has pre-approved Ohio-based Fulfab as the vendor for the ready-to-assemble hangar units.
A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled at the airport for 1 p.m. on April 16. Sealed bids are due at the City Clerk’s Office by 2 p.m. on May 16.
